AMIR GERON:

Migrating Swifts in August in Tel Aviv

In the middle of August 2001 during the afternoon I was walking in a park near my house in a northern neighbourhood of Tel Aviv, Israel and heard noises above me.

When I was looking up to the sky I've seen a group of Common Swift, approximately 15 birds who were flying not very high above the park and screaming.

They were flying very fast all around without any order and made a lot of  noise.

After few minutes they flew away from the park area and went out off my sight so that I could not see in which direction they flew. Residential Swifts leave Tel Aviv around early June.
