This empty page represents the unfinished articles and unwritten papers of the countless contributors who were torn away from their work and their lives. Family members, friends, neighbors, colleges were taken away and slaughtered. They were gassed in concentration camps like Auschwitz, and killed elsewhere.
The
loss is still felt, in culture and science, in our neighborhoods and, most of all, in our hearts.
This lack of human beings makes the world poorer.
